Starting from a pre-built app template

You don't have to start from a blank page. Browse 245+ pre-built apps, pick one, and it becomes a real working app in your workspace that you can change in plain English.

You don't have to start from a blank page. OverSkill ships a catalog of pre-built apps — complete, working apps you can take as your own starting point and change to fit your business.

Browse them here: overskill.com/templates

There's nothing to unlock. The catalog is included with your account — no code, no coupon, no separate purchase.

What a pre-built app actually is

It's not a screenshot, a theme, or a design file you have to wire up. It's a real app. When you start from one you get:

  • Working pages (landing page, dashboard, customer portal — varies by app)
  • User sign-in already built in
  • A database already set up
  • Payments already wired, where the app needs them

So you're starting from something that already runs, not something you have to assemble.

How to use one

  1. Go to overskill.com/templates and browse. You can filter by category or search.
  2. Click the one you want. You'll see a preview, what pages it includes, how many apps have been built from it, and its rating.
  3. Start from it. It's copied into your workspace as your own app.
  4. Change it in plain English. Open the editor chat and describe what you want different.

💬 Ask your AI to customize it Paste this into your app's chat once you've started from a template:

Rebrand this app for my business. Change the colors to match my brand, replace the placeholder company name with my real one, and update the homepage copy to describe what I actually sell. Ask me for anything you need — my brand colors, business name, or what I sell — instead of guessing.

Finding the right one

The catalog is organized by category. Current counts:

  • Business — 86 apps
  • Funnels & Marketing — 32
  • E-commerce — 26
  • Health — 22
  • Entertainment — 18
  • Social — 15
  • Education — 13
  • Finance — 11
  • Utilities — 12
  • Productivity — 10

Sort by Newest to see the latest work, or Popular to see what's been built from most often. New templates are added regularly, so it's worth checking back.

If you'd rather describe your idea than browse, you can always start from scratch instead — see Build your first app in 3 minutes.

Sharing your app so customers can use it

This is the other half of what people usually want: once your app is published, you can let other people take their own copy of it.

Every published app has a remix link in this shape:

https://www.overskill.com/remix/YOUR-APP-ID

Send that link to a customer and they get their own working copy to customize — they aren't editing yours, and they don't affect your version. It's a clean way to hand someone a finished app as a starting point.

To find yours: open the app and use the share/remix option, or just take your app's ID from its URL and put it after /remix/. The app has to be published first — unpublished apps don't have remix links yet.

Selling a template you built

If you've built something good and want other builders to start from it, you can list it on the marketplace and earn a commission on each sale. See Selling your app.

Common questions

Do I need a special plan for the templates? No. They're included.

Will starting from a template use my credits? Starting from one is cheap compared to building from scratch, because the app already exists. Customizing it uses credits like any other AI change.

Can I use one template more than once? Yes. Start from the same template as many times as you like.

Can I change anything, or only the colors? Anything. Once it's your app, it's a normal OverSkill app — add pages, change features, rip parts out.

I was told there'd be pre-built apps for my program or membership — is this them? Almost certainly yes: this catalog is the pre-built app library. If you were told about something separate and specific to your program, contact support and we'll check for you.
