Version history and rollbacks

Every change is a saved version. Roll back, restore, or compare any version with a click.

OverSkill saves a new version every time the AI makes a change. So if a change goes sideways — or you just want to undo something — you can roll back in two clicks.

Opening the history panel

Click the history icon in the top toolbar of the editor (the clock-arrow). The version panel slides open from the right.

Each entry shows:

  • When the version was created
  • What changed (a one-line summary)
  • Who made the change (the AI or you)
  • A Restore button

The current version is highlighted at the top. Anything below it is older.

Rolling back

Click Restore on any version. The editor reverts the preview to that exact state. Try it out — if you like it, leave it. If not, click Restore on a different version, or your most recent one to undo the rollback.

Rollbacks are non-destructive — they don't delete future versions. You can always jump back forward.

Comparing versions

Hover over any version's row to see a quick preview of what was different (the summary expands to show a diff-style change list).

When to roll back

  • The AI misunderstood and rewrote something you liked
  • A change broke the app and you're not sure why
  • You want to try something different but keep an escape route
  • You published a bad version and need to revert

What happens when you publish a rollback

Restoring a version only affects your preview. To make it live for users:

  1. Restore the version in the editor
  2. Click Publish in the top right
  3. The live version updates within seconds

Existing users see the rollback on their next page refresh.

Limits

Free apps keep 30 days of history. Paid plans keep everything forever. Older versions stay restorable as long as they're in your history.
