An analytics web tag is part of your app's page code. You can ask the builder to add the tag supplied by your provider, such as Google Analytics, Fathom or Plausible. This is separate from connecting a service through the Integrations catalog.
Add and test the tag
- In your analytics account, create the website or web data stream for your app's live address. Follow that provider's current installation instructions.
- Give the builder the public tracking ID or installation snippet and ask it to add tracking without changing the rest of the app. Do not share a private account API key.
- Ask it to keep editor and preview visits out of your production reports, and to track page navigation in your app without counting the same visit twice.
- Publish, visit the live address and check the provider's live/debug view.
Google documents its web setup and tag options.
A tag can also run in Preview unless your app's code excludes it. Publishing is needed to deliver the change to the live app; it does not automatically prevent preview tracking.
If you see no visits
Check the ID, the address configured in your analytics account, the browser's tracking protection and your app's consent choices. Test the actual custom domain if you use one. Avoid adding the same tag twice while troubleshooting.
The builder work uses credits. The analytics provider's own pricing and terms apply to its service.
