Changing your app's overskill.app address

You can change your app's overskill.app address once, from the Publish window, after the app is published. The new address goes live when you publish again.

Every app gets an address like myrecipes.overskill.app. You can change the first part of it once.

How to change it

  1. Publish the app first. The option to change the address only shows once the app is published. Click Publish and let it go live.
  2. Open the Publish window again. Next to the address under Live URL there's a small pencil (Customize URL). Click it.
  3. Type the new name and click Save.
  4. Click Publish once more so the new address goes live.

You can change the address only once, so double-check the spelling before you save. After that, the address is fixed.

I don't see the pencil

  • The app isn't published yet. Publish it first, then open the Publish window again.
  • You've already used your one change. The Publish window says so. If you need a different address, connect your own domain.
  • A custom domain is your app's main address. The pencil is hidden while your own domain is the primary address.

More in Publishing and sharing

Connecting your own domain

Use your own web address — like myapp.com — instead of the default one.

Preview vs live: how publishing works

Your changes are visible to you instantly. They're visible to your users when you publish. Here's the difference.

Your remix URL and sharing your app

Every app has a remix URL. Share it and anyone can start their own copy of your app to build on. There's no button to hunt for — the link is the whole mechanism.
