Exporting your data

Get a copy of everything in your app — anytime, in standard formats. Your data is always yours.

Your data is yours. You can export it any time, in formats you can open anywhere.

The quickest way

In the editor sidebar → Data → click any table → Export. Choose a format:

  • CSV — opens in Excel, Numbers, Google Sheets, or anywhere
  • Excel (.xlsx) — preserves formatting better
  • JSON — for technical users, exact structure preserved

Download starts immediately. Files up to a few hundred MB download direct; larger exports get emailed to you.

Exporting everything at once

Export all my app's data.

You'll get a single zip file with one CSV per table, plus a README.txt explaining what each file is.

Scheduling exports

Want a nightly or weekly backup?

Every Sunday at 8am, export all my data and email it to me.

Set up once, runs forever. See Scheduling automatic updates.

Exporting to a spreadsheet (live)

If you want a continuously-updated copy in Google Sheets or similar, set up a one-way sync. See Connecting Google Sheets and reverse the direction.

What about user-uploaded files?

Photos, documents, and other files your users uploaded ARE included in the full export — bundled into a files/ folder in the zip.

What you don't get in an export

  • App code — the export is your DATA, not the app itself. The app stays on OverSkill.
  • Other apps' data — exports are per-app

Leaving OverSkill

If you ever decide to leave OverSkill, you can export everything and walk away with all your data. No lock-in.
