About this template
Accession is the institutional record of a national archive's accession, appraisal and public-access authority, published as a working reference surface. Thirteen modules trace one document's life from receipt to the search-room desk: accession and transfer, appraisal and disposal decisions, arrangement and the fonds, description and the finding aid, the thirty-year closure period, freedom-of-information review, the search room and produced documents, conservation treatment, repository environment and storage, deposit agreements and loans, digitisation and surrogates, and a public reader's portal with catalogue search, series descriptions, document requests, queue position and seat allocation.
Built in the Swiss objective-documentation lineage of Gerstner and Ruder — a visible hairline twelve-column grid, a left finding-aid reference margin, tabular monospace reference codes, and a drawn fonds hierarchy. Accession Year 42: 11,480 linear metres of holdings, 3,206 accessions received, 2,742 accepted and 464 declined, 1,918 series opened and 388 retained under review.
