About this template

Allotment is the complete working system of a community allotment gardens association - the volunteer-run operation that keeps the plot register, holds the waiting list and offers vacant plots in turn, collects the annual rent by the rod, inspects every plot for cultivation and serves notice on the ones left to run wild, runs the summer water rota and the trading hut, stages and judges the annual produce show, calls the communal work parties, keeps the committee minutes, turns the compost bays, mends the paths, fences and taps, and records the wildlife the site supports.

Thirteen real modules, each a browsable page with real seeded site data. The PLOT REGISTER carries every numbered plot with its row, its size in rods and square metres, its tenant and tenancy date, the structures standing on it, its nearest standpipe, its cultivation state and the date it was last inspected. The WAITING LIST holds who is next - position, date joined, parish qualification, the plot size asked for, every offer already made with its outcome, and the declines counted against the rule. The TENANCY AND RENT LEDGER is the money: rent calculated at the rate per rod, the concession applied, the water and structure charges, paid against due, days in arrears and the state of every tenancy. CULTIVATION INSPECTIONS records the condition of the site plot by plot, from a satisfactory visit through improvement letter and first notice to notice to quit, each with its re-inspection and result. THE WATER AND TAP ROTA carries four standpipes, the season's opening and closing, the weekly duties and who missed theirs, metered consumption against last year and every leak with its repair date.

THE TRADING HUT holds the stock, the member price against cost, what has sold this season, the lines below their reorder level and the takings by opening session. THE ANNUAL SHOW publishes the schedule of classes with their exhibit requirements and judges, every entry with its exhibitor and plot, the awards given and the points accrued toward the championship cup. COMMUNAL WORK PARTIES, COMMITTEE AND MINUTES, COMPOST AND GREEN WASTE, SITE INFRASTRUCTURE AND REPAIRS and WILDLIFE AND BIODIVERSITY complete the association's view. A PLOTHOLDER PORTAL gives a tenant their own plot, rent state, inspection outcome, rota duties, communal hours and show awards, and a SITE SECRETARY DASHBOARD closes the loop.

The signature drawing is the site plan of the numbered plots: the whole allotment drawn flat as a true plan, every plot a rectangle at its real rod size in its real row with its number on its own chip, cultivated plots engraved-hatched and vacant ones outlined, plots under notice to quit drawn in beetroot red and called out by number, the central and cross paths ruled and named, the standpipes, trading hut, communal shed, compost bays and orchard drawn at their own positions, with a north point and a ruled scale bar. Designed in British wartime Dig for Victory seed-packet lithography crossed with a Victorian horticultural show schedule: a warm kraft ochre ground, deep leaf-black ink, dig-green rules and botanical engraving, and a single beetroot red reserved strictly for rent in arrears, a plot under notice, a missed water duty, communal hours below the requirement, a line below its reorder level, a repair past its target or a species record in decline.
