Bursar

Bursar is a tuition billing and payment-plan portal for an independent K-12 school. It serves two audiences from one ledger: families, who need to see exactly what they owe and pay it without a phone call, and the business office, which runs installment plans, financial aid and delinquency follow-up. The design is Bauhaus and Ulm School basic-shapes poster work — Herbert Bayer, Josef Albers, Max Bill. Primary red, primary blue and primary yellow sit on an off-white ground with true black, and the geometry is structural rather than decorative: circles, squares, quarter-arcs and triangles are the layout itself, each one holding real content. A quarter-arc is a percent-paid gauge. A red square is the net financed balance. Archivo Black carries the display type against Space Grotesk, every figure is tabular, and every panel is separated by a hard two-pixel rule. It reads like a 1923 Weimar exhibition poster that learned to do arithmetic. Families get a contract view, the aid credit broken out by category, the net balance and a ten-part installment schedule with due dates, amounts and running balance — then pay in two taps. The business office gets a roster of households by days past due and amount owed, the ability to drill into a single family, reschedule or swap an installment, and issue award letters split across need, merit, sibling and faculty categories. Remix it for anything that bills a person in scheduled pieces against a signed agreement: private and charter schools, tutoring centres, childcare, music and dance academies, clinics on payment plans, or any membership that mixes a discount, a subsidy and an installment schedule in the same ledger.
