Cedilla

Cedilla is the assessment back office for a language academy teaching adults across the Common European Framework, A1 through C2. A new student is placed by a written test plus a recorded oral interview; they move up a level only when examiners score them against a written rubric. Cedilla is where that placement and progression actually gets decided, recorded and defended. The product is the oral-exam rubric. Two examiners score independently across range, accuracy, fluency, interaction and coherence; Cedilla shows both scores side by side with the delta per criterion, applies the academy's rule that a minimum band is required in every criterion rather than on the average, and produces the final per-criterion result and the pass or hold verdict. Examiner calibration is a first-class screen: inter-rater agreement over time, the criteria where two examiners systematically diverge, and the sessions that need a third scorer. Alongside it: placement intake combining written-test bands and interview scores into a recommended starting level; a student record showing level history, guided learning hours accrued against the hours required to advance, and eligibility for the next exam window; class rosters by level with seat capacity; and a public level ladder page that shows prospective students exactly what each level means and how many hours it takes to leave it. Built for language academies and schools, CEFR-aligned exam centres, corporate language training providers, and university language departments that need progression decisions to be consistent between examiners rather than a matter of who happened to be in the room. The design is an examination-board certificate — a high-contrast didone display face against monospaced score figures, a deep examination navy split against document white, and a single terracotta used only for the level a student is being moved to.
