About this template

Cellarage is the complete working system of a fine wine merchant that trades wine under bond and stores it in professional cellarage - the house that offers each vintage en primeur before it is bottled, receives the wine into a bonded warehouse under duty suspension, books every case into a numbered bin under a named customer's reserve account, inspects and records condition and provenance on arrival, prices the live book daily against the market, brokers cases back out for customers who wish to sell, releases wine either duty-paid for drinking or in-bond for onward trade, and publishes a drinking window for everything it holds.

Thirteen real modules, each a browsable page with real seeded trade data. The WINE AND VINTAGE CATALOGUE carries every wine the house trades with its appellation and classification, its bottle format, its critic scores with the critic named, and the house's own tasting note. EN PRIMEUR CAMPAIGNS records wine sold before bottling - the opening price per case in bond, the allocation received against the allocation requested, the scaling applied where a wine was oversubscribed, and the price movement since release. CUSTOMER RESERVE ACCOUNTS states whose wine is whose. The BONDED BIN INVENTORY places every case in its own aisle, rack and bin with its duty status IN BOND or DUTY PAID. CONDITION AND PROVENANCE records the ullage level bottle by bottle from INTO NECK to BELOW, the original case and its seal, and the provenance chain from the estate through every previous owner.

The DAILY MARKET PRICE BOOK, BROKING AND BIDS, RELEASE AND DELIVERY, DUTY AND VAT CALCULATION, the STORAGE BILLING LEDGER, DRINKING WINDOW AND MATURITY and ORDERS AND ALLOCATION complete the house's view. A CUSTOMER CELLAR PORTAL shows a collector every case they hold with its bin, its condition and its valuation against what they paid, and a CELLAR MASTER DASHBOARD closes the loop.

The signature drawing is the bin elevation of the bonded cellar: the whole chamber drawn flat as a true elevation, every bin a rectangle in its real aisle and rack sized to the cases it holds and numbered on its own chip, bins in bond engraved with a fine hatch and duty-paid bins drawn as plain outlines, every downgraded bin struck in ullage amber, the aisles ruled and named, the temperature and humidity probes drawn at their readings, and the goods-in bay, inspection bench and despatch bay drawn at their own positions with a ruled scale bar. Designed in a Victorian wine merchant's engraved trade circular crossed with Bordeaux chateau label lithography: a bone laid-paper ground, claret-black ink, deep claret engraved rules and keyline frames, and a single ullage amber reserved strictly for a case ullage below top shoulder, a broken case seal, a wine fallen more than fifteen per cent from its twelve-month high, a release past its promised window, a storage account in arrears or a drinking window closing inside two years.
