Corridor

Corridor is the dealing, till and compliance platform for an independent foreign-exchange bureau and money-remittance house — four high-street branches and an airport kiosk selling and buying banknotes across twenty-two currencies and paying cash remittances down six named corridors through agent networks abroad. It is not a crypto exchange and not a trading terminal: it is the back office a bureau runs on, where the rate board, the till, the corridor, the float and the compliance file all have to reconcile to each other at the end of a shift. The signature screen is the rate board, built as a real split-flap display. Every currency is a flap module carrying the interbank mid, the house buy and the house sell, the spread stated openly as a percentage, the movement against yesterday in basis points, and a status of live, held, order-only or not stocked. Flip a row and the dealer's view is underneath it: the cost of the stock actually on hand, the margin the current board is earning on it, and the suggested reprice. The other signature screen is the corridor board. Each of the six corridors carries its destination, the payout-method mix across agent cash pickup, bank deposit and mobile wallet, today's volume, the FX margin taken, the fee earned, the agent's commission, the average payout time and the cut-off clock on its settlement window — with an authored status of open, delayed, suspended or cut-off passed, drawn against an engraved arc plate running from the home node out to each destination. Around those: till and float reconciliation for one branch and one shift, with the opening float in denominations, every transaction, the closing count the cashier keyed, the system's expectation and the variance per currency stated in that currency and converted to base; the remittance ledger where the amount the beneficiary receives is the headline figure rather than a footnote, each transfer carrying its rate, its fee, its payout reference and its state from pending funds through to paid or returned; banknote stock per currency per branch against par with the wholesaler order pipeline and repatriation flags; a compliance file that states the regulated side plainly, with due-diligence records, the cumulative-value thresholds that trigger enhanced checks shown as a running aggregate against the threshold, PEP and sanctions screening with match strength and the analyst's disposition, suspicious-activity reports with their outcome and the retention clock; branches, cashiers and safe limits; a treasury position showing long and short per currency against limits with the day's realised margin split between board spread and remittance fee; and a customer portal where a sender sees exactly what their beneficiary will receive, the rate they were given, the fee stated separately and a progress rail against the payout reference. Designed in the idiom of the 1970s Solari split-flap departure board and jet-age terminal wayfinding: a board-black ground, amber-white flap glyphs, a split seam through every row's type midline, tightly-tracked condensed board capitals, hairline steel rules and a flap-flip on value change that settles instantly under reduced motion.
