Counterpunch
Counterpunch is the storefront, specimen catalogue and licensing back-office for an independent digital type foundry — eleven released families spanning text serifs, a grotesque, a condensed poster face, a monospace and a variable display family, licensed to designers, agencies and software companies. The Catalogue is the shop floor: every family with its weight count, glyph count, release year and entry price, each fronted by a giant drawn character plate. Specimen Detail is where a typeface is actually judged — an oversized glyph plate, a waterfall size ramp, a pangram row, variable-axis sliders that visibly change the rendered weight and width, OpenType feature toggles, a full glyph-coverage grid and the language-support list. The Type Tester lets a buyer set their own copy at their own size, leading and tracking before they commit. The Licence Builder is the commercial core: desktop seats, webfont pageview tier, app installs and broadcast rights combined into a live price computed in tabular figures against a printed tier table. My Licences carries each issued licence with its key, seats used against entitled, allowlisted domains, expiry, EULA version and invoice history. Webfont Kits handles the technical delivery — generated kits per licence, formats, domain allowlist management, subset selection and a CSS snippet to copy. Compliance is the awkward conversation made routine: pageview usage against tier with overage warnings, and a seat audit. Custom Commissions runs the bespoke pipeline by stage, scope and fee, and the Foundry Back-Office reports revenue by family, licence mix and top customers. Visually Counterpunch is Swiss International Typographic Style in the Müller-Brockmann lineage rather than a generic SaaS marketing page: a visible baseline and column grid with hairline rules actually drawn on the page, an extreme type scale setting a very large flush-left grotesque headline ragged-right against letterspaced uppercase micro-labels, a strict monochrome palette of paper, black and two greys with one signal red reserved for live figures and active states, tabular monospace numerals in rule-separated data rows like a printed price list, and a sidebar-and-canvas app shell with a sticky type-tester bar — the product surface itself, not a hero bolted on top. Remix it for any licensing, digital-goods, design-studio or catalogue-and-entitlement business.
