Dispensary
Dispensary is the controlled-drugs accountability and clinical-governance record of a community pharmacy — the statutory evidence file that stands behind every Schedule 2 and Schedule 3 item the premises receives, supplies, destroys or writes off. It is not a dashboard about dispensing. It is the bound register, kept live, in the form the responsible pharmacist runs it and the inspector asks to see it. Ten modules, each a populated register with a detail view rather than a summary tile: THE BOUND REGISTER — a separate section per drug and strength, every entry carrying date, running balance, the person supplied, the prescriber and the prescription reference, with the balance brought forward and carried down so the arithmetic is visible rather than asserted. BALANCE CHECKS — the periodic physical count against the register balance, with discrepancies recorded, investigated and signed, never silently corrected. REQUISITIONS — supplies to practitioners, hospices, care homes and midwives, with the requisition serial, the signature chain and the schedule. DESTRUCTIONS WITNESSED — expired and patient-returned stock denatured in the presence of an authorised witness, with the denaturing kit, the witness and the designation recorded. THE CABINET AND PREMISES — the physical control: a welded steel cabinet to BS 2881 bolted to the structural wall, the BS 3621 five-lever lock, the key register, the alarm zone and the CCTV retention period, drawn to scale as an orthographic elevation. INCIDENTS AND NEAR MISSES — the clinical-governance record, each entry carrying what happened, what was contributory, what changed, and whether it was reportable. THE RESPONSIBLE PHARMACIST RECORD — the statutory record of who was in charge, from when until when, and the absence periods. INSPECTIONS — the regulator's visits, the findings, the improvement actions and their closure dates. STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES — the versioned SOP library with review dates and the staff read-and-understood log. THE STAFF AND COMPETENCE REGISTER — who may do what, against what training, and when it expires. Built as the printed controlled-drugs register stationery it replaces — a bound, ruled, numbered document with running balances in tabular figures — crossed with the colour discipline of 1970s regulated pharmacy signage, in an editorial multi-column layout with a drawn-to-scale cabinet elevation rather than stock photography. Members sign in to the register itself: the live section, the balance-check prompt, and the outstanding actions for their shift.
