About this template

Oubliette is the complete working system of an escape room company running several themed rooms across a venue - the operation that designs the puzzle chains, books the groups, briefs them, watches them on the monitors, drip-feeds the clues, resets every prop between games, repairs the mechanisms that break, tracks the escape rate room by room and sells the gift vouchers.

Fourteen real modules, each a browsable page with real seeded venue data. The ROOM ESTATE carries every room with its theme, player range, difficulty, time limit, puzzle count, build cost, opening date, refresh date and status. The GAME SESSION LOG holds every game played - room, start time, group and size, the gamemaster on the monitors, hints given, the escape outcome, the finishing time to the second and the puzzle the group stalled on longest. The GAMEMASTER ROSTER records who is signed off on which rooms, their hint discipline score, average reset time, shifts worked and first-aid expiry. RESET AND READINESS is the between-games checklist per room with the reset time achieved against target, the items found out of place and the readiness verdict before the next group is admitted. PROP AND MECHANISM MAINTENANCE tracks every maglock, RFID reader, reed switch, servo, relay board and solenoid by asset tag with its actuations since install and mean actuations between failures.

PUZZLE FLOW AND DEPENDENCY publishes the chain itself - each puzzle's dependencies, what it unlocks, its designed and measured median solve time, its hint rate and whether it sits on the critical path. THE HINT LOG records every clue delivered with the minute of the game, the delivery channel, whether the group asked, and whether they solved within three minutes afterwards. THE BOOKING DIARY, CORPORATE AND TEAM BUILDING, THE GIFT VOUCHER LEDGER with its breakage and outstanding liability, LEADERBOARD AND ESCAPE RATES, and SAFETY AND EMERGENCY EGRESS with its maglock fail-safe verifications and evacuation drill times complete the venue's view. A PLAYER PORTAL gives a group their own games, finishing times, hints used and vouchers held, and a VENUE DASHBOARD closes the loop.

The signature drawing is the puzzle dependency graph: one room's whole chain drawn as a directed graph on the ink ground, every puzzle a hard-cornered stencilled node carrying its number and its median solve time, the dependency edges ruled with hard arrowheads, the critical path drawn heavier and the single puzzle with the highest hint rate flagged in blood red. Designed in 1970s Italian giallo film poster crossed with brutalist concrete signage - an ink-black ground, bone white, an acid yellow carrying the stencilled signage panels, and a single blood red reserved strictly for a room held at reset, a failed emergency release test, an overdue repair on a live room or an expired voucher.
