When your preview hits an error, the builder usually tries to fix it on its own. You'll see those repairs show up in your chat. If you'd rather it stopped, you can turn that off.
How to stop automatic fixing
- Wait for the Preview Error box to open over your preview. It opens on its own when your preview hits an error, and it's the only place this setting lives.
- At the bottom of the box, click Stop automatic fixing.
That's it. The builder won't try to fix problems in this app on its own anymore, so it won't spend your credits on repairs you didn't ask for.
A few things to know:
- It's for the whole app, not just the one error. It stays off until you turn it back on.
- Chatting doesn't turn it back on after you press Stop. You can still ask the builder to fix things in chat whenever you like. Those requests use credits as usual.
- Review AI fix is separate. That button writes a fix request you can edit before you send it. Writing the draft is free; sending it uses credits.
How to turn it back on
The next time the Preview Error box opens, you'll see Resume automatic fixing where the stop button was. Click it and the builder goes back to fixing preview errors on its own.
When it stops by itself
If the builder tries four times within an hour and the problem is still there, it pauses automatic fixing on its own so it doesn't keep spending your credits. You'll see a note in your chat saying so. Turn it back on the same way, with Resume automatic fixing, or tell the builder in chat what you want changed.
After you edit visually
When you change your app visually in the preview (including Undo or Redo of a visual change), automatic fixing pauses too. Editing files in the Code panel doesn't pause it. The Preview Error box shows Resume automatic fixing with a note that your manual edits were saved. It turns back on by itself the next time you send the builder a message, or you can click Resume automatic fixing.
