Pommel

Pommel is the apparatus, floor and judging record of a gymnastics club — the technical committee that has to be able to prove that every piece of apparatus a gymnast touched was certified, set to the legal height, inspected that morning and landed on compliant matting, and that every score was given by a correctly constituted, currently qualified panel.

It holds the apparatus register as dimensioned elevations drawn to scale — 34 pieces across 3 floors and halls, each panel carrying its certification state, its datum height with tolerance, and its live inspection status, with withdrawn apparatus locked out of rotation and out of booking. It holds the height and datum record against the legal settings for each age band, the matting register with thickness, coverage and landing-area compliance, the morning inspection round with its sign-offs, the competition calendar across 11 open competitions a season, the judging panels with every judge's brevet grade and current qualification expiry, the scores traced back to the panel that gave them, the coaching register with qualifications and ratios, incidents and near misses with the action taken on each, the bookings and rotation strip for 462 gymnasts on the register, a member portal and the committee's own board.

The authority on four questions a club must never be unable to answer: was the apparatus certified, was it set to the legal height, was it inspected, and was the panel qualified to score.
